SewardWatch.org is a non-profit association engaged in the development and use of the international LoRaWAN networking standard to wirelessly connect low power monitoring sensors to the user via the internet at little cost. For more info see: https://lora-alliance.org/about-lorawan.

Utilizing the public investment in research and software development funded by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC), SewardWatch.org has been able, with the help of Alan Mitchell of Analysis North, to offer this free web service to the Seward community.

As new products and monitoring opportunities become available, SewardWatch.org will share the new knowledge gained through this website.

The initial goal of SewardWatch.org is to assist in the use of low cost LoRa sensor technology and available software for:

• Seward boat owners: the ability to monitor and be alerted of their boat bilge activity, high water alarm, battery voltage, and interior temperatures.
• Seward building owners and property managers: the ability to watch and be alerted of critical building temperatures, heating system conditions, and potential water damage issues.

Future development goals include:

• Detailed energy use monitoring of public and private buildings to improve efficiency.
• Utility meter reading and critical system monitoring to lower utility costs for Seward customers.
• Industrial and large facility monitoring projects.
• Find a long-term home and sponsors for SewardWatch.org while maintaining the open source, low-cost opportunities for all.
